Works of construction of the Moulay Youssef Bridge over Oued Bouregreg   linking the City of RABAT and the city of Sale.

  • Type of the construction: Motorway/Tramway double viaduct with prestressed beams
  • Scope : 200 ML
  • Number of spans: 5 of 40m each
  • Number of prestressed beams : 40 (4 beams by a span)

Studies:

  • Geotechnical investigations: Test core, pressiometric and dynamic and static penetrometric investigations
  • Total quantity: 1200 ml
  • Carrying out working design
  • Supervising working design

Earthwork and earth treatments:

  • Consolidate the capacity of the access roads to the works with gravel columns of 800 diameter that was produced by wet-processing.
  • Total quantity: 16 290 ml
  • Instruments: Monitor track settlements by using  multipoint Magnetic Extensometers and piezometric cells.
  • Objective: 2cm of residual settlements over one Month of pre-loading.

 

Foundations:

  • Over bored piles with a diameter of 1200mm
  • Number of piles: 108 Unit
  • Unit length of piles: 68 ml
  • Total length of 6000ml
  • Production of sheet piling

Works structure:

  • Concrete: 18 000m3
  • Formwork: 35.500m²
  • HEL Steels: 3 500 t
  • Prestressing reinforcements: 84t
  • Semi-rigid casing: 3 640 dm3

 

Demolition of the former bridge: the ARC Bridge of 190 ml, that had to be demolished at the crest level- 5 NGM
